Constantijn Sinfonietta speelt magische sprookjesmuziek!

Constantijn Sinfonietta speelt onder leiding van Ali Groen het Slotconcert van het Huygens Festival. Dit projectorkest wordt elk jaar samengesteld uit jonge musici uit Hongarije, Polen, Slowakije, Tsjechië, Vlaanderen en Nederland. In 2025 start het Huygens Festival op donderdagavond 18 september met het Openingsconcert, dat gegeven wordt door jeugdensembles uit de eerder genoemde landen.
Vanaf vrijdagochtend 19 september beginnen de repetities van het Constantijn Sinfonietta en die gaan door tot en met zondagochtend 21 september. We maken ook tijd om het groepsgevoel te versterken en er is een try-out op een bijzondere locatie op zaterdagmiddag. Het hoogtepunt is het Slotconcert op zondagmiddag 21 september in de prachtige Oude Kerk in Voorburg.
Het thema van de editie ‘25 van het Huygens Festival is ’Grenze(n)loos’ en dat sluit helemaal aan bij het magische sprookjesrepertoire dat we gaan uitvoeren, onder andere de Aladdin Suite van Nielsen en de Polowetzer Dansen van Borodin. En zoals elk jaar zal er worden afgesloten met Ode an die Freude van Ludwig van Beethoven.

Wie zoeken we?
- je bent minimaal 13 en maximaal 21 jaar oud en je spreekt Engels.
- je hebt bij voorkeur ruime orkestervaring en houdt van een uitdaging.
- je vindt het leuk om nieuwe mensen te ontmoeten en met hen samen te werken aan een prachtig concert.
- je bent 3 dagen (20, 21 en 22 september) volledig beschikbaar (voor de vrijdag kunnen wij een vrijstellingsbrief voor school schrijven).
- je speelt één van de volgende instrumenten; viool, altviool, cello, contrabas, dwarsfluit/piccolo, hobo, klarinet (zowel A- als Bes-), fagot, hoorn, trompet, trombone, tuba of pauken.
Constantijn Sinfonietta will play magical fairy tales!
Constantijn Sinfonietta, conducted by Ali Groen, will play the final concert of the Huygens Festival. The orchestra is composed every year of young musicians from Flanders (Belgium), Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and the Netherlands. In 2024, the Huygens Festival will start on Thursday evening, September 18, with the Opening Concert, performed by youth ensembles from the countries mentioned.
Rehearsals of the Constantijn Sinfonietta will start on Friday morning, September 19 and continue up to and including Sunday morning, September 21. In between rehearsals there is time for fun outings and eating together. The highlight is the Final Concert on Sunday afternoon, September 21, in the beautiful Oude Kerk in Voorburg.
In line with the Huygens Festival theme ‘Borderless’, the audience will be delighted to hear such a young orchestra playing magical fairy tale repertoire as for example the Aladdin Suite by Nielsen and the Polowetzer Dances by Borodin. Like every year, the Constantijn Sinfonietta will close with Ode an die Freude by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Who are we looking for?
- You’re playing one of the following instruments; violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute/piccolo, oboe, clarinet (both A and B-flat), bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba and timpani.
- you are at least 13 and maximum 21 years old and you speak English
- you preferably have extensive orchestral experience and love a challenge
- you enjoy meeting new people and working with them on a wonderful concert
- you are fully available for 3 days, September 20, 21 and 22 (we can write an exemption letter for school for Friday)
