Maciej Wierzcholowski

Maciej  (born in 1985, Olsztyn, Poland) is an organist, pianist and harpsichordist based in The Hague. After graduation at the Music Academy in Cracow he moved to the Netherlands to specialize in the field of early music keyboard instruments.

After studies he focused on solo organ performance and visited many European countries with solo recitals (England, Italy, Germany, Spain, Ukraine). For a few years he had been working on research on early baroque music from Baltic Lands, which was followed by the recording of compositions and folk melodies of that time with chamber music ensemble Concerto da Camera. In 2014 he was given the Prize of Stichting Musica Antica da Camera in Den Haag, for originality, energy and artistic persuasion.

For the last few years Maciej had been a guest teacher at Hogeschool Leiden for music history and aesthetics courses. In October last year he created his own music atelier Stille Harmonie in the historical center of The Hague. He is often a guest of Museum Swaensteyn en the Huygens Festival in Voorburg. This year he worked together with Muziektheater PRA in Amsterdam multidisciplinary project Stil Event with dancers and musicians.
